We undertake various forms of risk assessments to assist you to determine:

  • How severe a risk is
  • Whether the existing control measures are effective
  • What action you should take to control the risk; and
  • How urgently the action needs to be taken

Risk assessments can assist you to determine how significant a risk is, and based on this assessment identify the appropriate control measures based on what is reasonably practicable.

What does ‘reasonably practicable’ mean?

Section 20(2) of the OHS Act outlines what must be considered in determining what is ‘reasonably practicable’ in relation to ensuring health and safety:

  • the likelihood of the hazard or risk concerned eventuating;
  • the degree of harm that would result if the hazard or risk eventuated;
  • what the person concerned knows, or ought reasonably to know, about the hazard or risk and any ways of eliminating or reducing the hazard or risk;
  • the availability and suitability of ways to eliminate or reduce the hazard or risk;
  • the cost of eliminating or reducing the hazard or risk.

Our process
