Do you work with or purchase engineered stone?

Without an Engineered Stone Licence, businesses who work with engineered stone will not be able to operate or purchase engineered stone after 15 November 2022.

There are a list of requirements that need to be met before you can apply for your licence through WorkSafe Victoria.

Key Points

  • Engineered Stone can have very high quantities of crystalline silica, which is released when stone is cut, ground or abrasively polished.
  • If your business works with engineered stone in this way, you will need an engineered stone licence to conduct business as of 15 November 2022.
  • Penalties will apply if you work with engineered stone without a licence after 15 November 2022.
